What is a Domain Name?

A domain name provides a mechanism for people to get to a website without having to know its IP (internet protocol) address. For example, to get to Dominion Domains' website, you can simply type dominion.domains (the domain name) into your browser instead of its IP address which is 67.225.241.255.
